Wedding Photography Pricing in the UAE in AED

Typical 2026 price ranges, how packages are built, what pushes a quote up, and how to present it to Indian, Arab and Western clients.

Key takeaways
•
Published UAE wedding photography ranges are wide, from a few thousand dirhams to well over AED 15,000, so price from your own costs and hours.
•
Hours, deliverables, second shooters, venue and travel drive a quote more than the camera does.
•
State every quote in AED, show VAT as a separate line only if you are VAT-registered, and say what the deposit secures.
•
Clients compare quotes line by line; a clear package table answers most questions before they are asked.
"How much is a wedding photographer in Dubai?" is one of the most searched questions by couples, and one of the hardest to answer honestly. Published guides give ranges that overlap and sometimes contradict one another. A couple might see AED 3,000 on one site and AED 50,000 on another and wonder which is real. The answer is that both can be, because they describe different services.
This guide sets out what the sources we could open actually say about 2026-era pricing, how to read those ranges, how packages are structured, what makes a quote rise, and how to present it clearly. It is written for photographers setting prices and for clients comparing quotes. Prices are typical ranges, not rules, and change with the market. This is general information, not financial, legal or tax advice.

What published UAE ranges say

We opened several UAE-focused guides. They do not agree, which is useful in itself, because it shows you the spread.
| Source (type) | Photography range | Notes | |---|---|---| | Bride Club ME (wedding directory, March 2024) | about AED 8,000 up to 18,000+ for packages | Videography about AED 8,000 to 25,000; combined from about AED 1,700 an hour | | The Cinematic Socials (studio blog, undated) | budget AED 3,000 to 6,000; mid AED 5,000 to 15,000; luxury AED 15,000 to 50,000+ | Suggests 10 to 15 percent of the wedding budget for photography | | The Media Lab (studio blog) | weddings AED 2,500 to 20,000+ | Events AED 1,500 to 8,000+ | | Magnum ME (studio blog, 2025) | 8 to 10 hours AED 5,000 to 15,000 | Small events from about AED 200 an hour; corporate 4 to 6 hours AED 2,500 to 7,000 |
Some listings online show much higher daily figures, and at least one appears to show Indian rupee figures labelled as dirhams. Be sceptical of any number that looks out of line, and check the currency.
Read these as a market map, not a price list. They are marketing pages from studios, directories and agencies, and they describe different things: a half-day budget package, a full-day wedding, a luxury multi-day celebration. They are also not all dated 2026. Treat the 2026 range for a typical full-day wedding with one photographer as roughly the middle of what they show, and always check against the quotes you actually receive.
Tip: If you are a photographer, collect five real quotes from comparable photographers in your emirate and style. If you are a client, do the same. A five-quote sample tells you more than any blog.

Why quotes differ so much

The same wedding can be quoted at AED 4,000 by one person and AED 20,000 by another without either being dishonest. These are the drivers.

Hours of coverage

Most quotes are built around coverage time. The sources we saw describe half-day coverage as roughly four to six hours, a full day as eight to twelve hours, and multi-day coverage for multi-event weddings. A couple booking mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception is booking several events, not one.

Deliverables

What the client receives changes the price: number of edited photos, online gallery, prints, albums, a highlight film, a full film, raw files, and speed of delivery. A same-week sneak peek costs more than a six-week gallery. Our guide to photo delivery turnaround explains why.

Team size

A second photographer or a videographer adds cost for their fee, travel and editing. A lead photographer working alone is cheaper than a lead with two assistants. If you are quoting for a large Indian wedding, a second shooter often makes the difference between catching the baraat and missing it.

Experience and style

Experience, portfolio and reputation affect pricing. A photographer with a strong editorial or cinematic portfolio, published work and a waiting list will charge more than a newcomer. That is normal. Do not apologise for it, and do not copy it before you have the portfolio to support it.

Venue and logistics

A hotel ballroom in Downtown Dubai, a desert camp and a palace in Abu Dhabi involve different travel, setup, parking and permit realities. Venue rules can also add cost: some require insurance certificates, load-in times or approved suppliers.

Add-ons

Drone footage, extra hours, raw files, fast edits, albums, framed prints, parent albums and pre-wedding shoots are common extras. Drone work in particular needs registration and permission; see our guide to drone photography rules in the UAE.

Permits and location costs

Shooting in some public places or at landmarks needs a permit or the owner's permission, which can carry a fee. Our guide to photography permits in UAE public places explains how to ask. Decide in advance who pays.

How to structure packages

Three packages work well because they give the client a choice without overwhelming them. Many photographers use a "good, better, best" layout, with the middle option the one they most want to sell. The table below is an example of the structure, not a price recommendation. Put your own numbers in.
| | Essential | Signature | Complete | |---|---|---|---| | Coverage | One event, 4 to 6 hours | One main day, 8 to 10 hours | Multi-day or 10+ hours | | Photographers | One | One plus second shooter | Two or more | | Edited photos | A stated number or range | A higher range | The most | | Gallery | Online | Online and USB | Online, USB, prints or album | | Film | None | Highlight reel as add-on | Highlight film included | | Delivery | Stated weeks | Shorter | Priority | | Price | Your figure in AED | Your figure in AED | Your figure in AED |
Fill the table with figures from your own cost working. If you want a step-by-step method for that, see our guide to pricing wedding photography packages, which explains how to count hours and costs.

What to put in writing for each package

•
Hours of coverage and the start and finish times.
•
Number of photographers and videographers.
•
Number of events, such as ceremony and reception.
•
Delivery method, timeline and how long the gallery stays online.
•
Edited photos, expressed as a range, not a promise of a specific number.
•
Overtime rate per hour, in AED.
•
What is not included: albums, prints, travel, permits.

Travel, emirate and location surcharges

None of the sources we opened give a standard UAE surcharge for travelling between emirates, so do not invent one. What you can do is price the actual cost.
1.
Work out the real extra time. Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah can add hours of driving each way.
2.
Count direct costs. Fuel, tolls (Salik in Dubai), parking, and an overnight stay if the day is long or ends late.
3.
Decide a policy. Many photographers set a base area, such as Dubai, and quote a flat travel line for other emirates. Others include travel in the package for nearby venues.
4.
Be specific on the quote. "Travel to Abu Dhabi: AED [amount]" is clearer than a vague "location fee".
If your quote includes accommodation, say whether it is for you or for the team, and whether it is paid by you or the client.

Quoting different clients

Wedding clients in the UAE come from many backgrounds, and a quote that works for one may confuse another. These are patterns to be aware of, not stereotypes, so ask each couple what they want.

Indian couples

The UAE is a popular destination for Indian weddings, and one hotel has been reported as saying that Indian guests make up a large share of its wedding business. Indian weddings often involve several events over multiple days, large guest lists and specific ritual moments such as baraat, pheras and sindoor. Quote by event or by day, and clarify how many events are covered. A second shooter is often valuable. Our guide to Indian wedding photography in the UAE goes deeper, and the Indian wedding shot list helps you plan coverage.

Arab and Emirati clients

Many Arab and Emirati celebrations are organised with gender separation, and some may need female photographers or videographers for women's areas. Do not assume. Ask the family or the planner what is expected, who may be photographed, and whether any photos or videos may be shared. A quote may need separate lines for separate teams.

Western and international couples

Couples from Europe, North America and Australia often arrive with a Pinterest board and a planner, and are used to seeing prices in a package table. They may ask about raw files, travel and permits, and may compare you with photographers in their home country. Provide a clear package table, a sample contract and the date by which a decision is needed.

Any couple

•
Ask the budget range early; it saves wasted effort.
•
Explain what drives your price in one paragraph.
•
Offer two or three choices instead of one number.
•
Be willing to say no to a booking that does not work at your price.

Deposits, payment schedules and VAT

Deposits

A deposit confirms the date and compensates you for turning away other work. The sources we opened do not set a standard percentage, so choose and state your own. Common structures are a deposit at booking, a second instalment before the wedding, and a balance on or before delivery. Write down:
•
the amount and date of each payment in AED;
•
what the deposit secures;
•
what is refundable and under what conditions;
•
what happens if the date moves.
Our guide to the wedding photography contract covers cancellation and rescheduling clauses.

VAT on quotes

VAT applies only if you are VAT-registered. The Federal Tax Authority says mandatory registration is required when taxable supplies exceed AED 375,000 over the previous 12 months or are expected to in the next 30 days. If you are registered, add VAT as a separate line on quotes and invoices and show your Tax Registration Number on tax invoices. If you are not registered, do not add a VAT line. Make it clear whether a price is inclusive or exclusive of VAT, because clients compare totals. Confirm the current rate and the rules with the FTA or your accountant. For more on registration and invoices see how to start a photography business in the UAE.

Currency

Quote in AED. If a client wants to pay in another currency, state the exchange basis and who bears bank fees.
Tip: Put the deposit, instalment dates, VAT status and cancellation terms on the quote itself, not only in the contract. Clients read the quote first, and it avoids a sticky conversation later.

Mistakes to avoid

•
Quoting one number with no breakdown. Clients cannot tell what they are paying for.
•
Underpricing to win the booking. It rarely leads to better clients and often leads to burnout.
•
Leaving out editing time. A wedding is many hours of work after the event.
•
Forgetting permits and travel. They are real costs.
•
Mixing VAT-inclusive and exclusive prices. It causes disputes.
•
Not saying what is excluded. Albums and prints are common surprises.
•
Not leaving a way to adjust. Offer fewer hours or a smaller team rather than discounting the same service.

For clients: how to compare quotes

1.
Put quotes side by side in a table: hours, team, deliverables, delivery time, travel, VAT.
2.
Ask what is excluded.
3.
Ask for full galleries, not only highlight reels, from similar weddings.
4.
Check the licence and insurance.
5.
Ask about backup: what if the photographer is ill?
6.
Read the contract before paying a deposit.
If you want responses from several photographers at once, you can post your project with your date, venue and what you need. You can also look at photographers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, or browse the full photographers directory.
If you are a photographer, creating a profile at QuickPhotos for pros lets you see leads from couples who post projects. Pricing clearly in AED helps you answer them quickly.

FAQ

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Dubai in 2026?

Published ranges vary widely. Some guides show packages from about AED 3,000 to 6,000 at the budget end, AED 5,000 to 15,000 for mid-range, and AED 15,000 to well over AED 50,000 at the luxury end. Another puts photography packages at AED 8,000 to 18,000+. Collect your own quotes.

What percentage of a wedding budget should go to photography?

One UAE studio guide suggests 10 to 15 percent. That is a rule of thumb, not a requirement.

Is photography priced per hour or per package?

Both exist. Package pricing is more common for weddings; hourly rates are common for events and small shoots. One source quotes small events from about AED 200 an hour, and combined photo and video from about AED 1,700 an hour.

Do photographers charge VAT?

Only if registered for VAT. If so, VAT is added to the price and shown separately on a tax invoice.

Is there an extra fee for shooting in another emirate?

There is no standard fee in the sources we saw. Photographers usually charge travel costs and time. Ask for it as a clear line in the quote.

How big should the deposit be?

There is no official figure in the sources we opened. Choose a deposit that secures the date and covers your risk, and write it into the quote and contract.

Can I negotiate the price?

Often yes, but it is better to change the package than to reduce the price for the same work. Ask whether fewer hours or deliverables would bring it within budget.

Final word

Wedding photography prices in the UAE span a wide range because the services do. A good quote is clear about hours, team, deliverables, travel, permits, VAT and payment dates, and states everything in AED. Treat the ranges here as a starting point, check them against real quotes in 2026, and confirm tax details with the Federal Tax Authority or an accountant. Rates and rules change.
